Legacy Planner & family preparation

Estate Planning

A calm, private organizer for the things your family will need to find: the people to call, where papers are kept, which accounts to close, and what matters to you. Start for free, at your own pace.

Your first steps in planning

  1. Create your account

Start with the free Legacy Starter checklist. You do not need to buy a package to begin.

  2. Name your trusted people

Record who should be called first and how to reach them. Noting someone here does not legally appoint them to a role.

  3. Locate papers and accounts

List where important documents are kept and which institutions your family may need to contact. Never enter passwords or full account numbers.

  4. Record your wishes and story

Add service preferences, memories and a short handoff note in your own words. Leave anything undecided blank.

  5. Review and keep a copy

Use Next Steps to see what is missing. Export a plain-text packet, or a PDF with Organizer, and keep it somewhere safe. In-app sharing is not yet available.

What's inside

  • My People

Who your family should call first, and how to reach them.

  • My Document Locations

Where the will, deed and insurance papers are kept — locations only.

  • My Accounts

Institutions to notify, with the last 4 digits at most. Never passwords.

  • My Wishes & My Story

Service preferences and memories in your own words.

  • Family Handoff & Next Steps

A short letter, first calls, and a checklist of what's missing.

Private by default

  • Only you can see your plan. Funeral homes and partners have no access unless you invite them.
  • Sharing with people you invite is coming later. Until then, nobody else can open your plan.
  • We block Social Security numbers, passwords, full account numbers and recovery codes.
  • Your plan is never used to train AI or sent to analytics.
  • Export a PDF or plain-text packet, or delete everything, at any time.

Legacy Planner helps you organize information and record wishes. It does not create wills, trusts, powers of attorney or advance directives, and it doesn't give legal advice. Roles you note for people are not legal appointments. For legal documents, talk with a licensed attorney in your state.
